A feeling of pride and an air of solemnity pervaded the air as the proud parents and teachers and the eager students of grade seven upwards assembled to witness the investiture ceremony held on 29th June for the year 2016-17. The event commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by our principal Madhu Narayan which was followed by the invocation by Dhruv P.S. and the prayer song by the choir group. With this auspicious start, the main event on the agenda commenced.
"LEADERSHIP IS PRACTISED NOT SO MUCH IN WORDS AS IN ATTITUDE AND ACTION"
The student leaders were assured that despite the challenges leadership entails, it is still worthy of enduring as it gives them something of value for all their future leadership roles namely LIFESKILLS.
During the course of the year, as they interact with the school management, teachers, peers, juniors and even when they represent the school in various events, these life skills will be getting fostered and become a way of life.
With these words of encouragement, the investiture ceremony began. The student leaders looking sprightly in their white shirts and ties marched to the beat of the drum onto the stage. After briefly introducing each one to the audience , Madhu maam pinned their badges and sashes and wished them all success. The oath taking ceremony was then conducted by Madhu Maam for the headboy, headgirl, games Captain and games Vice Captain. The oath ceremony was conducted by the academic coordinator , Renu Sankaran for the house captains and vice-captains.
Following this Mr.Nitin, the Sports GM, handed over the flags to all the office bearers. The students then marched to the poles and set their flags flying. Madhu Maam then addressed the children and cautioned the juniors to obey their leaders. She encouraged the leaders and wished them all success. The event was brought to an end by School Song, vote of thanks by Suma and the National Anthem.
Following the event, parents had an informal photo session with their wards and then the Felicitation ceremony was conducted for the students who performed well in the board exams for the academic year 2015-16. Teachers of class X were also felicitated for their contribution to the students' success
The day was truly a memorable one for both the winners and the student leaders.
