The science exhibition and competition for grade X-XII conducted by Gopalan colleges was held on the 25th October 2019, wherein students showcased static and working models which can be used for understanding various scientific concepts. The objective was not only to inculcate a scientific attitude and research-mindedness but also to motivate the students to be creative and come out with innovative ideas.
Students from Environmental Application and Economics - Arushree, Jiya, Chinmay, Tanishka and Hemanth, represented GIS in this activity and made charts on developing a sustainable township model. They explained various aspects of eco-friendly technologies to achieve zero waste generation that could be adopted in any land use or development activities.
Ronit Danti of grade XI, ISC came up with a unique idea of waste management using an AR (artificial Reality) based app that allows the users to take pictures of garbage in their neighborhood and send it to the municipal authorities and win points for it that will eventually motivate everybody to ensure cleanliness in their locality.
The judges appreciated the students work and encouraged them to develop a bench scale model for future studies.
