Academic

GNS has adopted the ICSE curriculum (Indian Council for Secondary Education, New Delhi) and follows it throughout the grade levels. Teaching and learning are enriched through a variety of practical experiences and hands- on activities. Teachers choose age- appropriate methods to expose children to different topic areas and to make learning meaningful and fun.

Learning enhancement exercises, Remedial classes and many other innovative methods used to making learning happen.

PLAYGROUP AND NURSERY

Student centered activities involve a combination of Montessori activities and Kindergarten activities to develop gross and fine motor skills. The classes for our youngest student combine traditional educational values with innovative teaching techniques. Learning through drama, songs, rhymes, sound games, phonic videos, group work and other hands-on student-centred activities using multi-sensory methods facilitate the mission of our school, which is 'The Joy of Learning'.

The ICSE curriculum prescribes the following topic areas:

PREPARATORY, CLASS I & CLASS II

English. Maths, EVS (Environmental Science), Language (Hindi/Kannada), Computer Studies.

CLASS III - CLASS V

English, Maths, EVS(Environmental Science), Science, Social Studies, II Language (Hindi/Kannada), Computer Studies.

CLASS VI - CLASS VIII

English, Maths, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Studies (History, Civics, Geography), II Language (Hindi/Kannada), III Language (Kannada, Sanskrit or French)

  • Students who take Hindi as their II Language will have Kannada, Sanskrit or French as the III Language between standards V and VIII.
  • Students who take Kannada as their II Language will have Hindi, Sanskrit or French as the III Language between standards V and VIII.

CLASS IX - CLASS X

English, Maths, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Studies (History, Civics, Geography), II Language (Hindi/Kannada), 6th Subject (Computer Application / Economics)
